Project Introduction

Slide 1 of 23. This project started with the client asking for a product concept that might help save lives in a wildfire evacuation scenario.

Initial research showed that loss of life from wildfires often comes from the smoke in the air causing people to suffocate as they try and escape a burning structure. When looking at existing market solutions to help mitigate this issue, an opportunity for a new product became apparent. This opportunity was in the form of a emergency air supply designed for the home. The product could be thought of as the first thing to reach for when the fire alarm goes off. The air supply could be mounted in a quick access case, mounted on a wall or on any surface. The case opens like a clam shell when the user presses down on the top of the case, which is a large glow in the dark mechanical button release for the latch.

The center image shows the final product concept with its case on the wall in the background. *I take no ownership of the image of the man, I just painted on top of it. Also the images on the left and right are not my own creation, they are reference.*
